Haja Kamara aka China Nicky, winner of Big Sister Salone 2018 is refused visa to travel to London
The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs regrets to inform the general public that Haja Mariama Kamara popularly known as China Nicky, the winner of the Big Sister reality show who was to form part of the Ministry’s delegation to the World Travel Market in London and six others will not be participating at the event due to the non-issuance of visas by the British government.

With reference to the Official Nomination Letter issued out to all nominees via their email address… The Award Panel of the National Entertainment Award (NEA 2018) in Sierra Leone announces for the attention of nominees and general public that the modified voting requirements of the 2018 NEA Awards are as follows:
1⃣ORANGE Mobile SMS Voting – 70%
2⃣NEA Online Voting (www.lakeproductionsl.com) is 10%
3⃣Award Panel Deliberations (Inputing Voting Results & Final Description) is 20%
PLEASE NOTE: We would want to advice ALL the Nominees of the 2018 NEA Awards to put more premium on the SMS voting system due to its high required total percentage. The official closing date of public voting is 10th December 2018.
And also note that, a special WINNER PACKAGE will be given to all WINNERS of this year’s NEA Awards.

The Five Technical Committee Members of the panel will be responsible to input, verify and approve with final verification of LAKE Production CEO the eventual winner for the various award categories to be announced on Christmas Eve, the 24th December 2018, at the Prestigious Bintumani International Auditorium after rigorous national SMS and Online Public Voting process by the general public via 429 and www.lakeproductionsl.com.

Sierra Leone best and most outstanding female hip-hop artist STAR ZEE who also is an Africell brand Ambassador on Saturday 27th October, 2018 hailed the flag of Sierra Leone in the Ghana music and entertainment industry as she became the most influential artist who captured the attention of the world on the “ASHAIMAN TO DA WORLD CONCERT 18” an annual music event organized by the Ghanaian international artist STONEBWOY.

Morris features Nigeria’s ace singer – KCee in a thrilling track called “For this baby”

What many Sierra Leoneans refer to as a ‘funky collabo’ is the latest project done by one of Sierra Leone’s finest singers – Morris Kamara aka Wonder Boy and Nigeria’s singer, songwriter and performer – Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo – popular on stage as KCee in a song titled – ‘For This Baby’. The West African duo delivered a well thought out concept about love and real life, with strings of sounds and rhythm tailored and produced by a top-notch Sierra Leonean producer – Wilbert. This punishes resonates well in a real Afro beat style, and as such, a potential hit across the West African sub-region and beyond.
After a successful season, with couple of awards won and major hits in the past one year, Morris has decided to power his arts beyond borders, featuring Nigeria’s multi talented artist, KCee, as part of his next projects with top African artists.
Morris has had brilliant performances at the ‘Salone Music Festival’ in the United States in December 2017, where he also shot couple of videos and networked with international stars. In April this year, Morris shared a stage with one of Nigeria’s best Afro Pop artist – 2face Idibia, in Beijing, China, as a guest performer in a show hosted for the Nigerian star. Rumours have it that that partnership will lead to a potential collaboration.
Morris is signed up to the Visual Arts Media (an entertainment label in Freetown). He’s well known for popular hits like ‘Violator’, ‘U Ex’, ‘Boggie Down’, ‘Happy’ and more.
Kcee or Mr. Limpopo (as he’s fondly called), earned his breakthrough in music in 2013 after he had separated from the ‘Kc Presh’ duo hip hop group, a group he co-founded with his long time friend Presh. He came to the limelight when he released the single titled ‘Limpopo’ in 2013. He later released ‘Pull Over’ featuring Wizkid, ‘Limba’ and couple of other hits. Kcee has performed in bigger stages across the globe. He was nominated in several awards, and was the recipient of the Headies Awards for Hip Hop World Revelation of the year (2014) with the song “Takeover”. He is currently signed to ‘Five Star Music’, founded by his brother E-Money.
Morris’ partnership with Kcee speaks volume of how he intends to break beyond borders. It is always his dream to take Sierra Leone music to the international corridors, stages and airways. Morris informed this media that he will celebrate his birthday on the 7th November 2018 with release of his latest song (‘For This Baby’). The public is yet to get a taste of this crooner, after the artist has earlier announced the completion of the song on social media. A reality TV show in Freetown unexpectedly catapulted Haja M Kamara aka China Nicky to a national prominence. After 30 days of intense process in the house with 11 other housemates, China Nicky became the winner of Big Sister Salone 2018. The first ever reality show brought to you by ZedZee and in partnership with AYV television. China Nicky was announced the winner of Big Sister Salone 2018 on 14th October 2018 whiles Camareh S Kamara and Isha Marah became 1st runner-up. The winner (China Nicky) went home with 10 million Leones and brand new car as the winning prize plus 3 million Leones for completing 30 days in the house.
About Haja Kamara aka China Nicky
The key to many unopened doors is education which most will agree, however according to society the more education you acquire the more successful you will become in your chosen career path. It is not uncommon that an uneducated person probably journeys through a torturous career from gari seller to house help and can sometimes be seen as a common perception in our society. Furthermore, Haja Mariama Kamara (China Nicky), is a young woman from less a privileged background who orphaned at a very tender age with no means to education but wholly stolen the heart of the nation and the world at large through the Zainab Sheriff’s women empowerment reality programme, The Big Sister Salone show.
Amidst the challenges faced in the house among her antagonists, she was able to stand the storm and seems determined to stay the course no matter the challenge. Many viewers see her as someone in need of empowerment, especially as she has showed attributes of a determined individual who cannot be cowed by circumstances. They see in her as an example of many young girls out there whose talents are yet to be discovered and are looking for some opportunity to do so.
Among the other contestants, Haja Mariama Kamara, commonly known as China Nicky gained majority of the public votes both home and abroad each time she was up for eviction. The name ‘China Nicky’ is just a nickname that was combined and given to her by friends because she is an admirer of famous American celebrity Nicki Minaj and at the same time her looks resemble that of a Chinese, so her friends gave her the nickname “China Nicky” meaning Chinese Nicki Minaj. She is presently not on any social media forum due to her poor status however official social media pages is created on her behalf.
From humble beginnings, this fair complexion young lady’s background resonates with many Sierra Leonean girls. Losing her parents at an early age, resulting in her dropping out of school, she was determined not to be deterred by this huge misfortune and learnt sewing and hairdressing, which she mastered and has been the sole provider of all her needs.
Living with a friend, Ejatu (now her manager), she aspires to become an actress and by divine providence, the Big Sister Salone 2018 Reality show presented itself. She showed the desire to participate in the show and was encouraged by her friend who then paid the Le100,000 for the enrolment form. During the audition, she stole the hearts of the judges with her comic pronunciation of the Krio word “Rasul (wrestle) which she pronounced as “Rashul”, who then fell over themselves with laughter. As she met the other criteria for selection, she was then chosen to be among the 12 contestants in the house.
Whilst in the Big Sister Salone house, competing amongst educationists, China Nicky’s bravery, boldness, intelligence and being her real self, captured the hearts of viewers both nationally and internationally.
Mesmerised, fascinated and thrilled by the down-to-earth, common sense and real life behaviour of China Nicky in the house, millions of supporters voted to keep her in the race, with the ultimate aim of making her the winner of Big Sister Salone 2018 TV Reality Show. Her fans see in her someone they can resonate with and the embodiment of the common woman, devoid of all the sophistication of the elite, yet in her own right she is elite.

The masterpiece of all reality shows in Sierra Leone, Big Sister, will reach its final destination this Sunday – a milestone in modern television in Sierra Leone.
Initiated by AYV Media Empire and ZedZee in September 2018, Big Sister now feels like home for all of us. We have a lot of successful TV Programmes, but Big Sister is a groundbreaking reality show.
This maiden edition has attracted millions of viewers from across the world, with thousands of votes cast by fans on a weekly basis; eviction sessions at the 232 club and social interaction platforms including the fans’ zone and celebrity parties with top stars – another milestone.
Big Sister is an amazing show which has brought the country together and advancement in the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone. The show has brought social cohesion and unity to Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad devoid of their POLITICAL, CULTURAL, SOCIAL, ECONOMIC STATUS and other AFFILIATIONS.
